How much should my PLN bill be? How much will it be if I increase or decrease the power to my house?

In January the new head of PLN announced that, starting on Jan 1st 2010, there would be a price increase for users on the domestic (R2 and R3) tariffs that would reduce the amount of subsidised power they would receieve from 80% of the average national power use for their tariff to 50% of the average national power usage for their tariff. This would only apply to people using 6,600 watts and above. The idea is to punish high consumption domestic users.

In June the government announced that electricity charges would increase on 1st July 2010. It is believed that this will raise the price of subsidised power by around 18%. The lowest tariffs (less than 1,000 KWH will not be affected.

As at July 2nd PLN had not received notification of the increases from the government and so they were not able to state what the new tariffs will be.
