From time to time buildings need to be renovated
or modified.
Ground subsidence or wear and tear can build and in
time will need rectifying. Renovating can correct the
results of time and usage and bring a building back up
to as new standard or perhaps give a new look.
As a buildings use develops modifications may be required
such as putting in new doorways or add new rooms.

Most buildings will need internal
repainting every five years or so and this is a good
time to get all the small cracks repaired.
Cracks are
normal in most buildings particular in new properties
where the ground may be settling under the weight of
the newly built building but may also occur after earthquake
damage. In Bali there are often small earthquakes that
we don't even notice but may make a building settle a
bit.
Recently Mr Fixit has been renovating a large office
building that was built on land that was once rice paddies.
The building is sound but continually shifts opening
up small cracks.
Roofs are another thing that need routine repair or
replacement and this is particularly the case with alang
alang (thatched) roofs.
