We Supply, Install and Service WIKA Solar Hot Water Systems

WIKA water heaters are made in Indonesia and use the same" tried and tested" robust passive design used in the most popular solar water heaters. Locally made means that costs are kept down while ensuring that parts and service are always readily available.

Wika SWH 150LXC
(click the image to enlarge)

Suitable for small to medium households (2 bathrooms and kitchen) the Wika SWH 150XLC is of the same tried and tested design and uses the same stove enamelled tank lining as considerably more expensive imported products from Rheem and Solahart.

This heater is guaranteed for 7 years.
Wika Solar Water Heater
Storage Tank: 146 litre stove enamel coated carbon steel with high density polyurethane insulation and stainless steel outer cover. A magnesium anode is fitted for corrosion protection.
Collector Panel: 2 sq m aluminium plate copper pipe collector in an enclosure insulated with high density polyurethane and with a 5mm Mislite glass cover.
Heat transfer: Uses an independent circulation system with Glycol as the transfer fluid.
Working pressure: 4 bar (60 psi) to a maximum of 6 bar (90 psi)
Size: 2.66 m long x 1.23 m wide, total weight of the tank and collector full is 235 kgs.
Backup heating: Thermostat controlled electric element 1000 watts.
Safety features: Pressure and temperature safety relief valve and Earth leakage Circuit Breaker.

Wika SWH 300LXC

Suitable for larger households (4 bathrooms and a kitchen) the Wika SWH300 LXC is effectively the same as the SWH 150 LXC but with a double capacity tank and 2 collector panels. The 300LXC also has a larger backup electric heating element.

This heater is guaranteed for 7 years.

Storage Tank: 284 litre stove enamel coated carbon steel with high density polyurethane insulation and stainless steel outer cover. A magnesium anode is fitted for corrosion protection.
Collector Panel: 4 sq m aluminium plate copper pipe collector in an enclosure insulated with high density polyurethane and with a 5mm Mislite glass cover.
Heat transfer: Uses an independent circulation system with Glycol as the carrier fluid.
Working pressure: 4 bar (60 psi) to a maximum of 6 bar (90 psi)
Size: 2.66 m long x 2.24 m wide, total weight of the tank and collector full is 464 kgs.
Backup heating: Thermostat controlled electric element 1500 watts.
Safety features: Pressure and temperature safety relief valve and Earth leakage Circuit Breaker.

Features

Solar Collector Panel

The collector consists of an absorber plate of aluminium with copper tubes embedded in it. Infra red rays strike the aluminium heating it up. The heat is transferred through the copper to the carrier fluid inside.

The collector plate is mounted in an insulated zincalume box with a misilte low iron safety glass cover which traps heat inside the box and stops cooling from breezes. High density polyurethane foam insulated the absorber plate inside the box.

Water Storage Tank

WIKA solar water heater storage tanks are manufacturered from carbon steel and have an internal coating of stove enamel to protect them from corrosion. The tank has a cold water inlet and a hot water outlet. There is also an internal coil of copper pipe through which the heat transfer fluid flows to transfer heat collected in the absorber plate to the water in the tank.

Insulation

The storage tank is surrounded with a thick layer of High Density Polyurethane foam with a stainless steel outer cover.

Sacrificial Anode

There is a sacrificial anode inside the tank to protect it from corrosion. The anode is made from magnesium which corrodes more easily than steel thus the anode "preferentially" corrodes reducing corrosive activity in the steel.

Backup Electric Element

The tank is also fitted with a backup electric element so that should the need arise the water in the tank can be heated electrically.

Safety Features

WIKA solar water heaters have a temperature and pressure release valve to protect them from overheating and over pressurising.

An earth leakage detection contact breaker is also supplied with each heater to provide protection should there be a short circuit in the heating element. Unlike normal contact breakers an earth leakage breaker reacts very quickly to cut off power before a person can be electrocuted.
